disclaimer: i am in no way a professional singer/musician im just basing this off my knowledge and experience from singing for 10 years

Jisung debuted at the age of 14 and as a young lad going through puberty, JS still had a high-pitched voice. However, his vocal training was very good that in chewing gum, you could hear his very clear, smooth, and stable tenor singing style

However, as Jisung went through puberty, his voice started changing from a high tenor to a lower one and his clear voice started developing some huskiness due to the change
Imagine having played an instrument for your whole life and suddenly you had to play another oneㅡyou are faced with the unfamiliar; this is what happened with Jisung's voice.
Jisung's adolescent years placed his voice in a vague position which he had yet to navigate. he still had to find his vocal placrment and while he was on that journey, he started exploring the world of rap. MFAL and We Young era saw the beginnings if rapper Jisung.

2018 was when Jisung started using his lower tenor/baritone tone. as nct dream and their concepts started maturing, so did JS. Starting from go era, JS started projecting his voice more and showing the true nature of his vocals
nct dream’s candle light gave us a glimpse of how good jisung's vocals are
the song showcased jisung's melodic singing very well 💚 he was able to show how he too could serenade and sing using a sweet tone 💚

Don't Need You Love is where Jisung blossomed. His baritone tone and vocal character perfectly fit the song. This song (for me) was the perfect fit for JS and really showed off how beautiful and unique his vocals are 💗
Jisung's vocals in 1,2,3 is AMAZING. You can hear how unique his vocal texture is. he has great control and even did a great job harmonizing with HC by singing the low part. His duet part with CL also showed how great his technique really is💚
Dream Run showed off Jisung's playful nature✨ He was able to showcase his groove in this song and honestly its such a refreshing thing to listen to 💚 How JS used falsettos and sang his lines in staccato rhythm* gave so much character to his singing 💯
*staccato meaning from the dictionary
"performed with each note sharply detached or separated from the others."

basically its cutting off notes when singing them as compared to singing in legato which is a flowy or connected way of singing 😊
Just wanted to highlight Jisung's lines in the bridge of Dream Run bc it showed off Jisung's vocal character and range 😍 The bridge part is structured like a musical and JS was easily able to match his singing with that style 💚 very good technique 💯
To hear Jisung sing this stable even if their choreo was demanding during their cover of BoA's No. 1 is phenomenal. This performance really showed off how great JS's technique is. He really is a great singer and this performance affirmed that 😊💯
Up to You showed just how good Jisung is when singing in a higher register. Although Jisung does not sing much high notes normally, he attacked his high notes here very well. His vocal chords were wide open and he hit the high notes on point 👌🏼💯
Reload Era was when Jisung really let go of himself and sang freely. In each and every song in this album, you could hear just how freely Jisung sings. His vocals in this album went above and beyond and is just soaring high 💚
Jaemin mentioned in their Reload UnCut vids that he would want Jisung to project his voice out more bc his singing voice felt trapped 🥺 JS's singing in the past really did feel this way but in Reload, he really let go and sang more freely 🥰 Our Jisung really did grow a lot💚
Jisung's part in Ridin' is a fave for me because of how the notes are arranged in a way where they go down in pitch. To sing these notes isn't an easy feat. JS, however did a great job in singing these plus it fit his baritone register 😊💚
Jisung's vocals in Love Again really is amazing. You could tell that his vocal chords were wide open and relaxed when you listen to how he sang his high notes. He really let himself sing freely in this song and I get chills whenever I hear him sing here 😍
Again Jisung shows how good he is with ballad songs in their song Puzzle Piece. Honestly, JS's vocal texture and his use of airiness in his singing in the song gave a very homey vibe to it. It's as if he's singing live right beside you while playing guitar
Ending this thread with a compilation of Jisung's parts 😊
Jisung may be known as one of the greatest dancers in this gen but he really is a great vocalist and rapper as well 💚 Jisung still hasn't reached full potential but the future is looking bright✨
