The madness of the Djokovic disqualification is how one small event can lead to a series of knock on incidents.... The butterfly effect in full force
PCB serving at 5-4*, 0-40, 3 set points for Novak. He hits a forehand that lands in by a milimetre. If that doesn't happen Novak wins the set and probably the match comfortably. No drama.
PCB ends up holding, which sets Novak off, launches a ball angrily at one of the advertising boards. Then slips and hurts his shoulder serving in the next game. He eventually gets broken and hits the ball in frustration, and wipes out the line judge.
He gets disqualified from the event, an incident which will follow him around the rest of his career, ruins an undefeated season and will probably taint his entire tennis legacy.
Meanwhile, we will have a new US Open Champion and someone's life will be altered greatly. Zverev? Thiem? FAA? Pospisil? Medvedev? It will be the greatest moment of their life.
If PCB doesn't clip the line at 5-4*, 0-40, none of these things happen and it would have just been a normal tennis moment. And that is kind of blowing my mind. Life, bloody hell.
