How porn ruined my life & how I overcame my addiction.

I was a normal guy with no addiction, to be honest.

I was good at maths, had gf in my 7th,8th & 9th grade.

My parents were kinda strict so they did not give me a smartphone until college which is after 10th grade
After my 10th was over, I got a big smartphone (touch) & obviously,

I wanted to do what everybody was doing since I was "missing out" on the fun.

But at the same time, while everybody had access to Porn & I did not,

I was eager to Porn, masturbate & orgasm (PMO)
After college started, I would come home in the evening, and the majority of the time there would be no one except for me,

so I would enjoy myself. Everyday.

Time went by & I did not realize how much it had consumed me.
For the 1st two years, there was not a single day where I did not PMO.

Not a single one.

Long story short I was an ideal Coomer, but not a gamer.
It was 3 years ago when I decided to improve myself or start my self-improvement journey.

After nearly 1 year of research, trying to figure out

Why is this wrong with me or that...

I wanted to find the root problem, & I did.
I tried to find out why I was the way I was,
and it connected to PMO.

I tried to find out what happens to a PMO addict and boom everything connected.

I had connected the dots.
Now I am not saying that doing it once will ruin your life, but when I was addicted to PMO

I was in denial. I said, "I can't be addicted to PMO LOL."

This addiction is real & probably has ruined thousands of lives if not millions.

I was depressed & suicidal (at some point).
I spent a lot of time alone inside where the majority of the time I was "busy" with PMO.

I have tried nearly 1000s of times to quit cold turkey but nothing worked.

PMO consumed me.

But after 3 years I have figured out a system per se, which I think will help people with PMO.
These tips are what I wish I had back then,
I wanted to free myself.

1. Make a commitment (write down on paper)

Yes sounds very dumb, but hear me out.

Write down your whys

I wrote down
why I should quit PMO,

- no anxiety
-no depression
-no acne

Trust me this helps
2. Realizing where your urges come from

you get urges when you're
-bored
-sad/depressed
-lonely
-repetition (your brain telling you to PMO out of habit)
-tired
You have to realize that being horny is an emotion, just like being angry.

Breath in, breath out & let it pass

And it will pass.
3. Change your routine/habits & environment

It's not like if you sit at home alone just like you would but this time
you just try controlling your PMO urge.

Change your routines, incorporate new healthy habits.

Get out of your house!
4. Learn something to focus & build

Learn a skill you find interesting, start exercising (I got into Ayurveda, Yoga & strength training)
5. Have a purpose
(slightly touching #4)

Create a whole new life,
Dedicate your life to this one thing you think is worth spending time on,

Or maybe worth sacrificing everything else.
6. Re-directing your thoughts
(the most crucial one for me)

Re-direct your thoughts & energy towards something else.

Every time you get an urge, you want to think about a woman,

Just redirect your thoughts, you don't want to indulge in those thoughts.
Every time you see a thought coming, don't entertain it.

These thoughts leave an impression on your mind about

"ahhh!!... let's think about that"
only until you relapse.

I would end up peeking on the net

"let's search for that!"

"I'll only look at it" & then relapse.
7. LIVE YOUR LIFE

Don't think about nofap/ semen retention all the time or watch no PMO videos all the foking time.

Just thinking about "no PMO" will make you relapse since it's on your mind.

Read, make friends, play & breath!
Make something of yourself.
"Doing it for the last time won't hurt" will hurt you forever.
Bonus tip 1

Don't count the days
(in context with tip #7)

Keeps you engaged in the thought that

"you don't have to do something"

which will naturally make you do it.
Bonus tip 2

Don't think of nofap as a challenge,

It as a lifestyle.

you only need to change your lifestyle.
Bonus tip 3

Go outside more often
(in context with #3)

9/10 times you get an urge to PMO because you are alone inside your house 24/7.

Change your environment.
Bonus tip 4

Delete social media

Social media aroused me to the feeling of

"ahh!... Let's search for something related to this"

Instagram has now become a soft pawn site.

At least unfollow all the "models".
If you are about to relapse...

you find yourself in this situation where you are in momentum

set position, half of your brain tells you "last time",

the other half tells you "please don't, don't ruin the hard work..."
Just throw away your phone, scream or jump or run across the hall.

Just break the momentum.

BREAK THE MOMENTUM.
If you relapsed...

If you relapsed, don't punish yourself.

If you could learn to forgive yourself immediately when you relapse

You would be far more successful with nofap.

When you meditate, it is very human in nature to drift away
We drift away from our goals,

we drift away from our mantra or our focus on breath,

But the goal in meditation is not to punish yourself when you drift away,

But simply identify that you drifted away & come back on the right track.

You will improve every time you do this.
With any addiction,

Relapse isn't a failure, quitting is.
Don't try & quit pawn.Rather give up your attachment to lust.
Lust in thoughts is the precursor to wanting to binge on that material. Instead, observe lust like a stranger at your door.
Watch him,but don't let'em into your house & entertain him with chips & dip
