I was watching a movie with my friend today and the protagonist, a white woman, had dated 20 men. Only one was a black man, all 19 others were white men. And he was perfect! But turns out he was gay, so he couldn& #39;t be with the protagonist. I ended up thinking about it hours later
In an attempt to be inclusive, this kind of film will have one black man. But he should never end up with the protagonist-- but it& #39;s not his fault. He is perfect. So they will make up excuses. Like, the character being gay.
I think the character being perfect might also be the fear of the white writers of adding flaws to the character and ended up being racist. Or maybe they just don& #39;t know how to write non white characters?
Anyways this thread is just me thinking dont mind me
