OK #DnD WAS WILD TONIGHT AND I HAVE A HECK OF A STORY. STRAP YOURSELVES IN.
For context, after someone in the party (against our knowledge) stole money from a bank kart, we got arrested and sent to do slave labor in the mines.

#DnD Our breakout ended up spliting into 3 groups from different events happening. One person who got in trouble for using magic to summon food/water finding the chamber where the guard constructs are made and powerful gear.
Another got the help of a guard who wanted to leave.
Another got the help of a guard who wanted to leave.
#DnD And then there was me. Who managed to calm down a berserking ape prisoner who had been here for years just enough to get him on our side, and help us break free. I don't know how I managed to do it, but I did, and I got to ride on his back for a while and it was awesome.
#DnD The other two groups meet up, all disguised as guards, traveling through the coin minting facility with the allied guard. Meanwhile, me and the other prisoners started taking out some of the guards in the mine area.
#DnD We took out so many quick enough that the remaining ones that wern't fully automated just agreed it wasn't worth their lives, left us alone, and told the other non-automated ones to leave us alone as well.
#DnD We encountered another prisoner who had actually escaped in the past, but returned because "The outside world is no fun". With their help, me and another character took a secret passage into the head of the facility's room.
#DnD We see them reading a book, someone comes in and talks to them, they dawn some fancy armor, and walk out. The second their gone, we look around, find a strange thing I can only describe as a "Golden 7", taking it and a bunch of other weapons and potions. And some money
#DnD After a bit longer, both groups met up in the halls, and we learned apparently the ape knows elvish sign language. We all heal up a bit, and share info. In order to get out, we need the major keys. They got the silver key, we got the admin key. We just need the bronze one.
#DnD We find someone with the bronze key, and one of the guard disguised party members pulls off a convincing enough performance to get the key from him. During this, we have an extremely close call with the head of guard missing 12 OF US, and some of us head back to the office
#DnD We're looking for a way to get the guard their freedom, and while searching for this info, we find a contract. The head of the mint has sold the place to demons, and if the contract is broken, this person and all the mint's property are going straight to one hell's circles
#DnD There were a few ways for the contract to be broken, and one of them was if the mint owner's father (the owner of the bank itself) was informed of it. So we come up with a plan: Blackmail the mint owner (who I will list as the son now) to let us buy the guard off of them.
#DnD Then show the contract to his father anyway because the dude was literally running a slave operation with the help of hell and we wern't cool with that.
Anyway, after all this and another close call, we head to the display floor, where the father and son are.
Anyway, after all this and another close call, we head to the display floor, where the father and son are.
#DnD We get there, he asks about us, we have a honest conversation with him. VERY honest. We tell him everything except the contract. The father is FURIOUS. The son is screwed. We also learned all our posessions were burned. We're all kinda upset about that.
#DnD Father is going to reimburse us the money and everything of ours that can be replaced. Suddenly, sword through his chest from his son, a demon (we assume from the contract) next to him, empowering him. Speach about how he's not gonna let us go, usual stuff.
#DnD We threatened to pull the contract out and show it to the father. He dares us to try, saying even his father has a few secrets people don't know about. Demon person has him charmed.
Owner of the bank?
Turns out he's an ancient dragon.

#DnD We were GOING to end the session there, and start the next one with the fight. But then... one of the players remembered something.
They have a scroll they found that can get rid of the charm.
We use the scroll on the Dragon dad.
Dragon dad passes the save.

Dragon dad passes the save.
#DnD He. Is. FURIOUS. Literally everyone on our side with a turn between then and Dragon Dad's turn just stands back. The son tries to stab the dragon 3 times. 2. 2. Nat 1.
"I should have thought this through... CURSE YOU ADVENTURERS!" As the dragon kills them, then and there.
"I should have thought this through... CURSE YOU ADVENTURERS!" As the dragon kills them, then and there.
#DnD The dragon father, happy we helped save him and stop his son, reveals that he set up the bank and mint as a more... legal way to have a hoard, and the slavery was NOT what he wanted. He was going to reward us with 1000 gold each, but after this, he has a new reward...
#DnD He brought us to the room where the coins were minted. Fired all the elemental guards. They were happy to finally be free. He then gave us one minute to take as much as we could from the room, and that "anything gone when he gets back, he will not miss"
#DnD GM has us do a series of roles to determine what we get in the frenzy. This is what I got. JUST ME. Everyone else got similar amounts EACH.
#DnD After that, we, through multiple elevator trips, leave the facility at last. And as we get up there... I trigger a trap and get a wooden mallet to the face.
Yea turns out the party members that WERN'T captured set up a trap here hunting a Wyvern.
Yea turns out the party members that WERN'T captured set up a trap here hunting a Wyvern.
#DnD We have alot ahead of us now. Most of the former slaves don't have homes, party members fill us in on where we are, we have alot ahead of us, including the original mission we were on. Overall though, this was a wild session and one i'll be remembering for a while.
#DnD Oh, one last thing. The party member who actually stole the bank's money? Bank knew it was them, and apparently that one even pressured another party member to steal some. The original one who stole it though had fled (IC reason because his player's work schedule changed)
#DnD We very much sold out that party member and their identity. Said character is now being tracked down, and will be working to pay off the money he stole when he does (in a much more legal way, this time though)
#DnD I'm not actually mad at the player who stole the money and set all this off though. His character was greedy, the people who ran the bank cart were mean, but the player themself is a nice person and a pretty good friend. The character was mean, the player is not
