The atomization of America is near its peak. Spectacle media and the commoditization of identity have divided us down to the individual level, which has left us isolated and profoundly depressed. The community has been replaced by hyperreal social media and clout chasing.

Quarantine has turned this affliction from mental to physical. Now, more than ever, we need to build social connections if we wish to reverse this. Political organization is almost impossible over the social media that dominates our lives. Our voice drowns in all the noise.

Defeating atomization requires us to begin our efforts with small groups; even one-on-one conversations. It seems insignificant, but it pales in comparison to the insignificance of a tweet. We must rebuild our dying communities and social lives from the bottom-up.

We are approaching an inflection point in history. Capitalism reigns supreme and both new and old media are our enemies. We have no control over the vast information flow that dominates our world; we can only control our immediate surroundings. It's time for us to act.

Communists must fearlessly show their opposition to our current conditions when speaking with their immediate social circles. This isn't the time to be quiet or cower away when controversy arises; it is time to proudly declare our communist beliefs. We don't hide behind innuendo.

Our society has become deeply ill as we suffer in silence and isolation. People are looking for answers, and communists can provide them. The old world is burning to ash, and if a new world is to rise from those ashes, we must begin the arduous struggle to build it.
