It’s not an accident that the anti-Trump stories the media pushes when it’s trying to sway Republican voters away from Trump are always gossipy, non-policy stories.

It’s a significant admission that GOP voters are happy with Trump’s agenda and what he’s actually done in office.
The media is afraid of focusing on controversies with real policy questions because they all bounce back to Trump’s benefit.

Last thing they media wants is a referendum on immigration, trade, taxes, war, green new deal, etc.
The other part of the equation is the distorting effect of NeverTrump.

NT is *also* are afraid to engage on the key policy questions—bc they’re just as out of step with the GOP voter.

Dems/media look to NT for the key to GOP votes but don’t realize that it’s a finite pool.
All this time, the media has been pitching their anti-Trump content to an ideal GOP audience of, basically, David French.

(Thankfully for all of us, there aren’t that many of those around.)

It does makes me happy that they will never realize their mistake.
