I am right now going to forcibly educate everyone on the tl about SASAKURE . UK'S "DO VOCALOIDS DREAM OF DOOMSDAY BIRDS SERIES" via this thread, because i like it a lot and its underrated. Please enjoy
trigger warnings for the series: HEAVY DOOMSDAY THEMES LIKE THATS THE ENTIRE PLOT, war, implied death. (Guns + explosions in the pv of our 16bit warz specifically)
The plot of Doomsday Series is Exactly As It Says On The Tin. It is a series of songs about the fall of humanity + the end of the world after a ginormous war!
Each song is from the point of view of someone affected by the war + world's end in a different way, at different points in the timeline.
Chronologically, the first song in the series (despite being released last) is The (Week)end's Coming! (Shuumatsu ga Yattekuru!)
This song, sung by Kagamine Rin, is about a schoolgirl who doesn't care about much in the world except her crush, though everything changes when her crush leaves to fight in the war.

Personally this is the saddest song in the series to me it fucks me up and is VERY UNDERRATED...
The second song in the series is Our 16bit Wars. (Bokura no 16bit Sensou)
This song, sung by GUMI, is from the point of view of someone who fights in the war. The lyrics are rather vague but express...what someone fighting a war might think.

This may be my fav song in the series. The art is amazing and the songs a banger. Man i love gumi
The third song in the series is The Wanderlast.
(subbed by karasuhana on youtube)
This song is from the point of view of an android, near their end. The lyrics to this song are also rather vague, but the android sings about how their only wish is to sing a song that reaches their loved one's heart.
i didnt pay that much attention to the wanderlust @ first compared to the other songs but its so gorjust....... The abrupt end is so interesting and conveys such a specific emotion
forgot to add it was sung by megurine luka. Kek.
The fourth, and "final" song in the series is *Hello, Planet!
Sung by Hatsune Miku and (shocker) the most popular song in the series, it is about an android who wakes up (post-war) and travels the world with a unsprouted potted plant, seeking her master. +
After a while, she finds out her master is long deceased, upsetting her to the point of crying. Her tears make the plant finally sprout--presumably making it the last new life on Earth.

She passes and happily meets her master in heaven.
Bonuses to the series include '*Sayonara, World End' (answer song to Hello Planet), 'Our 16bit endZ trigger' (answer song to Our 16bit wars), and the 2019 remake of The Wanderlast.

I havent really listened to any of these so i have no expert opinions to share here....
That's all there is to know! I hope this thread introduced you to a few lovely vocaloid songs and a wonderful bittersweet story.

This series is really special to me and I can talk about it for hours, so I'm glad to share it with all of you guys through force ☺️

Thread end!
