I want us as an industry to stop perpetuating the notion that tech history was only influenced by white men and therefore we must accept the absolute garbage repository of information that is centered around them.

There are female, non-binary, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals that have been contributing to this industry for DECADES. We just refused to acknowledge them back then.

I see this constantly in both academia and in the industry.
It becomes a problem when individuals only see white men perpetuated as influencers, because it gives others the notion that marginalized individuals don't belong here when they have UNDOUBTEDLY shaped the space.
