Academics think anyone who isn’t in academia couldn’t possibly be autodidacts (self taught) and instead assume we just lead with emotions and lived experience. Surprise, surprise, people study theory and have discourse outside the ivory tower.

But, even with those of us who are self taught - many academics love to hit us with some hierarchy of intellect. Again always assuming they are the most knowledgeable. I guess it does throw a curve knowing there are drop outs and people from the hood who challenge their elitism.

Don’t get so stuck in your arm chair of theory you don’t know how to talk to or relate to or be respectful to the people... cuz that’s what you doin all this studying for right? To make a meaningful contribution to our community? Or our movements? I would hope so
