Don't fall into rhetorical traps.

There are certain words or phrases which, by using them, already create a false dichotomy, or frame a debate.

For example, an easy one, "Pro-choice"

Thread/
"Pro-choice" works in a few ways. It frames the debate in terms of limiting or allowing choice for individuals. It uses a positive, "pro"
It makes the "pro-lifer" appear to support freedom

The "conservative" response to this genius phrase was "Pro-life". But this falls flat.

/
"Pro-life" falls flat because the opposite is either "pro-death" or "anti-life"

Whereas the opposite of "Pro-choice" is "anti-choice" or "pro-restriction"

Refuse to use any of these terms. Use instead:

Pro-choice = Pro-abortion
Pro-life = Anti-abortion

/
Anti-abortion works even with the negative 'anti' because even many "pro-choicers" would profess to be anti-abortion, especially lolbertarians.

And many "pro-choicers" would not claim to be pro-abortion.

/
Here is another one:

"Sex positive"

This is a generally accepted leftist term to describe being open and non-judgmental towards all forms of sex, premarital sex, homosexual sex, etc.

And it frames the subject as sex positive vs (implied) sex negative.

/
Therefore, if you believe in sex within a marriage, for procreation, as the best and only truly acceptable sex, you are now "sex-negative"

And you automatically look like a repressed Victorian who feels shame and disgust regarding sex.

/
There are many rhetorical traps. Dont fall into them. We need to form our words carefully. The left has a huge head start on the right, and 'conservatives' have been there all along to help them along by responding with terrible rhetoric.
