Reading Cynical Theories to "better understand" pomo or CRT, or whatever b/c the original sources are "ideologically suspect" is among the laziest most intellectually dishonest things I can think of

It's like reading a creationist critique of Darwin to "understand" evolution because you think Darwin can't be trusted to explain his own theory

People who read this book nodding their heads along are basically paying to have an ideological ally hate-read something for them & then regurgitate a Conservapedia version of the material so that they can turn around & pretend they've been fair & intellectually curious

It's bad faith through & through - it's the complete abandonment of thought under the guise of being a critical thinker. The whole point of reading the source material is to think about & critically assess it. It ain't fucking scripture

Just admit you're not up to doing the philosophical work, quit pretending you're some free thinker & not just another petty ideologue, & get out of here with the cheap veneer of intellectual respectability you've pasted over your own prejudices.
