I just gotta be real here:

Why are body con dresses being integrated into hijabi culture? As a person that has always hated the layers of shapewear required to slide into a body con dress, why are we selling them like they’re cool? They’re awful

Like I know you’ve all heard the typical reasons against body con dresses from an Islamic perspective but can I just talk from the Tuscany perspective?

If you’re wearing modest attire, it will be more comfortable and you don’t have to stuff your normal human self in it.

Like ladies, I know Instagram tries to convince us that we should all have surf board bellies but most people, even skinny people, have a little roundness there and it’s for protecting for our literal organs.

We shame ourselves into leaving our intestines and, for some, our uterus unprotected by natural amounts of fluffy body. And mind you, some people don’t have any fluffy belly and that’s okay too. We’re all beautifully created by Allah, and it’s important we love ourselves as is.

Don’t let people shame you into this lame idea of “acceptable body shape” when you can just wear something with more room to get bigger or smaller without others noticing. Just let yourself be you as you are.
