I'm not really familiar with the titles of the compositions of Bach, but I did very much like the way in which #doctorwho took Bach in their explanation of Bootstrap Paradox. https://twitter.com/JannoSturm/status/1302716890918400005
I'm a late Whovian btw, started to watch #doctorwho one summer during my vacation, both classic and current during the run of Matt Smith and since that time it has been one of my favorite series ever made. The world they have created with it is so amazingly rich.
My favorite #doctorwho episode has to be Vincent and the Doctor in which they meet Vincent van Gogh and he explains to them how he, as a 'madman' (when he is talking with a madman with a box...) sees the world. Tearing up when Van Gogh travels to our time and discovers his fame.
The next episode of #doctorwho which is absolutely stunning is Heaven Sent with Peter Capaldi doing an episode completely by himself. Should write an analysis of that episode one time.
Speaking of Peter Capaldi, turning this into a cultural thread of some kind: his performance as Malcolm Tucker in the Thick Of It is also brilliant.
One of my favorite actors is Philip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) and the scene that absolutely gets me is the scene in Happiness. "I'm boring" and meanwhile the therapist is making a grocery list. Simply brilliant.
One of my favorite directors is Sorrentino. Bringing me my favorite film, La Grande Bellezza (2013) and my favorite series, The Young Pope (2016) https://twitter.com/DeNater/status/1258896171420041216
Currently the best series on television is #lovecraftcountry by another director who I respect deeply: Jordan Peele. Get Out (2017) was one big sensation and he really excells in depicting the horrors of racism.
The last movie I was asked to review was Boyhood (2014) but I couldn't get myself to write that review because I found it so utterly boring. I've never written that review and have never written a review anymore for this platform, but I had a great time doing this back then.
