Why Lil Wayne is THE Most Influential Rapper of All Time
Preface:
Dwayne Carter, known professionally as Lil Wayne is an American rapper from New Orleans who initially came to prominence with his 1999 album “Tha Block Is Hot”.
He has since sold over 120 Million records, landed 3 #1 songs, and inspired a new generation of rappers.
This thread will be exploring Wayne’s impact on the rap game and discussing why he is the most influential rap artist in history.

Beginning
In 1999 when Wayne’s debut album dropped, he had already had been a figure in rap. Being under the mentorship of Birdman, his album was supported by Ca$h Money records and was received well, the album currently holds a RIAA 2x Platinum certification and peaked #3 on BB.
The songs in this album were very influential, and helped to establish the foundation of Wayne’s sound that would eventually go on to define his career.

Countless references to this album have been made in recent years by Artists like Megan Thee Stallion and NLE Choppa.
One of the most notable features of Wayne’s career was “Tha Carter” series, which started in 2004. Since, Wayne has released 5 “Tha Carter” albums, with “Tha Carter III” being his most successful album to date.

These albums were the blueprint for this generation of rappers.
