Hiking is a great choice for a not-too-hot summer day! If you plan to hit the trails, follow @VCHhealthcare's guide to hiking #COVID19 safe. Check out all their guides here: http://www.vch.ca/covid-19/safe-summer-guides
1. If you’re not feeling well, stay home. Nature can call another day.

2. Wash or sanitize your hands often, especially when you arrive and when you leave. Hand sanitizer isn’t as effective when hands are dirty, so wipe dirt off before applying.
3. Carpool and hike with a small group, ideally one or two other people.

4. Stock up on food, water and supplies close to home.

5. Keep 2 metres away from other people not in your group, and make room for others to pass.
6. Avoid high-touch areas, like ropes, ladders, or rails. If this isn’t possible, make sure to sanitize your hands afterwards.

7. Visit the trail during off-peak hours to avoid crowds. Does the trail or parking lot look crowded? Find a different trail or come back another day.
8. Go somewhere familiar, close to home and within your experience level. This isn’t a good time to get stranded.

Enjoy the great outdoors that BC has to offer, but do so safely!
