i hate knowing no one will ever have a good faith discussion with me on certain topics because politics and discourse suck!!!

(no, i will not clarify)

it is harder than you think to tell sometimes which issues are entirely clear cut and which are not. some absolutely are, and i understand that makes it stupid to tell people to 'try to understand where people are coming from' bc sometimes that really is just 'racism'

but unfortunately, some things that seem really clear cut like this are, in fact, not that. and i really don't have a universal message for telling them apart.

but! if someone you generally think seems like a well intentioned person holds one, i encourage you to TRY to reach out in good faith because 1) they might just be uneducated and you can help 2) they might have a pov you haven't considered?

but of course we live in This Discourse Hell so its hard to do on both ends because the difference between good faith discussions and 'receipts' is annoyingly permeable These Days and boy do I hate that. Don't be like that, people.
