Struggling to explain to your parents why you don’t think college is necessary to be successful?https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="💡" title="Elektrische Glühbirne" aria-label="Emoji: Elektrische Glühbirne">

- They’ve simply been conditioned to think this way over the years

- Similar to how people get stuck in the rat race they think what they’re doing is normalhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😨" title="Angstvolles Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Angstvolles Gesicht">
In psychology I’ve learned about the idea of positive reinforcementhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⚡️" title="Hochspannungszeichen" aria-label="Emoji: Hochspannungszeichen">

- Positive reinforcement is giving someone something when they do what they’re supposed to do!

- Example you get a good grade on a test and your parents give you money to keep this behavior uphttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🧠" title="Gehirn" aria-label="Emoji: Gehirn">
When you relate this to college parents think this is the only way to success!

- This is because it’s the most realistic way in a lot of people’s eyes if you don’t have a true talent

- When successful people you know went to college you automatically begin to associate themhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🧠" title="Gehirn" aria-label="Emoji: Gehirn">
Parents have projected these views onto their kids and made them go into a lot of debt

- To change their opinions you have to show them that the world has changed and we have so many more avenues to wealth!

- When things seem more attainable they will have faith in you
This will be difficult because your parents are kind of already programmed

- Your parents have been trained over the years to associate no college with doing nothinghttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="💀" title="Schädel" aria-label="Emoji: Schädel">

- Show them a plan and actually work towards it daily and watch how much they start supporting you!
