So as alot of folks on the left are talking about the process of arming themselves, I am going to make alittle thread here for those who are new to buying rifles/handguns, on cost effective specifically cheap but good guns to look at.
(2/13) Not going to cover any safety, tactical use, or training stuff in this thread, this is only meant to be a primer for people who may want to buy a gun, but arent sure how to do it on a budget and dont want to ask Chuds or watch Reich winger videos on the subject.
(3/13) First of all the cheapest point of entry for all aspects of gun ownership is in my opinion probably the Ruger 10/22.

Can be found on sale on the new market for around 200 to 400 dollars depending where you are looking.

Ammo is ubiquitous.
(4/13) Ruger 10/22 is semi auto and if I recall correctly usually comes with a box magazine with a 25 round capacity, if not they are pretty cheap comparatively to get aftermarket.
(5/13) Next options for being cheap are generally going to be Mil-surplus stuff, generally from the Eastern bloc, the best options in this category are.

The SKS and the VZ-52 (VZ-52/57 is more rare)
M1 Garand

Mosin Nagant
(6/13) The VZ-52 is my favorite of those options, though I'll add theres one big con to it that can be overcome.

It uses rare ammo (7.62x45mm), the 52/57 uses easier to find 7.62x39, but a regular 52 can be modded to use that as well.
(7/13) SKS uses 7.62x39, is pretty rugged, the reason I dont like it and prefer the VZ52 is it doesnt have a detachable magazine without getting a rare paratrooper model.

I wouldnt ever want to reload with stripper clips during a fire fight, is my reason I prefer the VZ52.
(8/13) The M1 garand is one of the most expensive on this list, but is very easy to find (600 bucks when I posted this).

Another top loader with stripper clips, some of them fire 7.62x51mm others fire 30-06.
(9/13) The Mosin Nagant really doesnt need me to Stan for it, its killed more fascists than any other gun in the world. It's also still pretty cheap in the sub 300 dollar range.

It's a bolt action, rugged AF, and is well suited for long range precision use.
(10/13) Ok onto pistols/handguns this one is abit more difficult to find solid performers and solid deals.

The cheapest way to buy in, is LEO surplus auctions. Basically they auction off Glock 19s for cheap.

However you are giving money to police departments so yuck.
(11/13) Next cheapest way to buy in probably 3d Printed kit guns, I am not going to go super in depth, because frankly this is outside the scope of my buying experience.
(12/13) Cheapest way after that is probably some of the Taurus lines are pretty budget friendly. I am guessing someone who follows me might have some good suggestions for this category, the handgun I carry doesn't belong on a budget friendly list or I'd suggest that.
(13/13) You can find cheaper options at gun shows often times, but since we are still balls deep in a pandemic I am not going to go to in depth into what to look for unless someone asks. Lotta chuds at gun shows to, as a warning, be smart engaging in conversation.
