a surprising finding from my current project: there are a whole lot of moms who, pre-pandemic, used grocery shopping as their primary source of "alone time" during the week
now, mid-pandemic, some of those moms aren't getting any alone time, because they're using grocery pickup/delivery or because their spouses/partners are picking up groceries on the way home from work. and the moms still getting groceries mostly find it *really* stressful now
I should say - this was surprising because our interview guide didn't include any questions about grocery shopping, but it came up in almost every interview. As @sarahkbowen1 noted - @katefcairns also found (pre-pandemic) that many mothers see food shopping as an enjoyable chore.
