Can’t believe there are people in the teaching profession who think it’s okay to look at a working class mum and kid on a picture and make value judgements based on what they look like. I was that kid. Mum had me as a teenager after a sexual assault. She tried her best but we had
nothing and it’s sickening to think that some teachers were sneering at me. I had the odd designer jumper etc which was given to me. Those questioning what working class people spend their money on have clearly never lived in poverty. At school my mum was horribly bullied and
called “Flynny Fleabags” as her own mother was an abusive alcoholic. Therefore, she did anything to make sure we weren’t bullied too. That included paying weekly for clothes, shopping in charity shops etc. I’m shocked that classist teachers still exist.
