What would the Todorokis name their family cat? Any thoughts? I was going to name Enji's cat 'Toshi', but I'm second guessing here because....that is a part of All Might's name. Lol unless Shouto gave it that name to taunt his dad.
Enji paid the cat no mind at first. The cat would run away from Fuyumi, hiss at Natsuo, glare at Shouto, but it falls in love with Enji. Sits right outside his training room. Leaves Enji a dead mouse by his patio door. Allows Enji to pet it.
It warms up to the kids eventually.
It warms up to the kids eventually.
The tabby tolerates the kids, but it /loves/ Enji and follows him from a distance. Enji's disdain turns into mumbling that the cat needs fresh water, or that they should buy it premium food because it looks too skinny. Soon, even an expensive collar appears on the cat.
Fuyumi is baffled when she finds a sleek cat perch in Enji's office where the orange cat is curled up.
"It was getting cold outside and he wouldn't stop meowing." Enji explains with a shrug.
There are cat treats on his desk.

Enji and the cat have this...understanding between them. The cat sits near, around, or on Enji's lap when it is quiet, and Enji doesnt consider moving it because the cat likes that he is warm and the purring is calming. Enji likes the company.
Enji's kids find the whole scenario a little strange. Especially when they discover that the orange cat curls up to Enji in the evenings and follows him to bed.
The balance works. It softens some of Enji's edges.
However, there is a shift when Hawks enters the picture.

However, there is a shift when Hawks enters the picture.
The cat zeroes in on Hawks' feathers, and cant quite wrap its head over this giant bird man in its home. The cat lurks around the corners, glaring intensely at Hawks. Eyes dilated.
Wherever Hawks is, the cat is there hiding, waiting to pounce.

Hawks has to dodge the cat's opportune attempts to get at his feathers. The cat's belled collar gives it away everytime, and Hawks learns how to listen in for the feline's tells.
When Hawks goes to Enji's room, the cat follows them.
When Hawks goes to Enji's room, the cat follows them.
Nothing is apparently sacred, because even when Hawks is in Enji's lap, their mouths sliding hot and desperate against each other, Hawks opens an eye to see that the cat is staring at them with dark intent on the nightstand. Just sitting and...staring.
Unmoving. Unblinking.
Unmoving. Unblinking.
"Enji, your cat is staring."
"Hm?"
"I think your cat wants to kill me."
"Don't be ridiculous."
The cat doesn't move, and Hawks tries desperately to ignore the feline, but that little bell makes one sound and his feathers are puffing up to avoid an attack.

The staring persist, nearly killing the mood.
Enji eventually picks up his cat carefully to place him outside of the door. Hawks hears a rustle of a treatbag and groans while the cat gets more pets and soft, mumbling praises from the No.1.
He isn't jealous. He swears.

Once they are alone together, Hawks relaxes & gets excited about actually getting /all/ of his man's attention. They get back into it, Hawks' body singing and Enji revving up his groping and grinding, when some animalistic, deep, guttural wailing sounds outside the bedroom door.
It is followed by a force that is nearly shocking when a small body rattles and scratches at the door. Flings its whole body to try and get inside.
The deep, sad, painful wailing only grows louder, and Enji pulls away.
"I think he is upset."
Hawks groans. "Ignore it? Please?"

Hawks is just /so horny/ and the orange tabby just outside the bedroom is actively cock blocking him after he hadn't seen Enji in /weeks./
The cat does not stop.
It is a terrible backdrop sound when attempting to make love. The loud wails turn to pathetic, meowing cries.

Enji's brows skew. "I'm going to check on him."
"He is manipulating you!" Hawks groans.
"He's a cat, Keigo."
And that's how Hawks finds himself sitting in bed, Enji beside him, the TV on while the orange feline lays claim to Enji's lap. The cat's eyes remain fixed on Hawks.

A truce is met when Hawks detaches a single feather and offers it to the cat. The tabby plays with it, and Hawks makes note that if he is going to make this work, he will have to win the cat's favor.
The key to Enji's heart (and bed) is guarded closely by the orange feline.

/end/ for now.
Next time: Hawks trying to win the cat's approval so that he can gain access to Enji's lap. The cat continues to be a creepy lurker while it judges Hawks intensely from a distance and tries to get at his wings.
A duel of wills.
