COVID Thread.

I see a lot of will he won’t he with regard to Soucek’s availability due to isolation, and subsequently a lot of misinformation being shared.

Understandably not everyone is accross the COVID guidelines, so I hope to share some useful info

Scenario 1 - positive COVID.

A +ve person must isolate for 7 days after symptoms present/or after the test date if symptom free.

This is not Soucek.

Scenario 2 - been in contact with a +ve case.

This is Soucek. He must isolate for 14 days, yes, for a longer time than the +ve case.

This is due to the incubation period, he could test +ve anywhere up to 14 days after contact.

If no symptoms after 14 days, free to play.

Scenario 3 - developing symptoms while in isolation.

IF symptoms present during the 14 days isolation as a contact, then 7 days isolation is required from onset.

This is the bit that throws people the most, it could be 3 weeks of isolation if symptoms start at day 14.

So Soucek should miss the start of the season if guidelines are followed correctly, but only the first game and as long as he is lucky enough not to have contacted COVID.

Edit - a positive case must isolate for 10 days, not 7 as I mentioned.
