name of the university and the event is being used repeatedly during the planning process. People are using the actual name of the uni and event as a means to hype it up, intentional or not,
and while it does seem exciting, it defeats the purpose of it being a completely different event, as you said.

The surge of people using those terms, thereby associating it with the actual university, intentionally or not, may then lead to problems.
I don't think that the intention of the thread is to say that you cannot make the event real. The point is to avoid, or to actually stop, using or including the name of the actual university in the tweets associated with your event.
