On Track was never about the girl, but about letting a close friend distance themselves over petty fights and rising rivalry. It's told from Hyunjin's point of view, reminiscing on the times they shared, but it's too late.
"The last train to you had already departed."
Minho suffers an accident sometime during their drifting friendship, putting him in a coma - He can't Awaken.
He's stuck in a state between life and death, a mere ghost - and Hyunjin, blaming himself, suffers with him - Only on an emotional level.
Both trapped.
Jeongin mentioned during an interview, his role in On Track is like a guardian angel - He's there to lead Minho into his Haven, but has to await the boys decision. Will he stay, or let go, as he tells us to in B ME?
Felix is his opposition. Like the devil and angel on your shoulder, as IN asks him to let go, Felix convinces him to Stay. During all this, Hyunjin wonders if it should have bene him in Minho's place.
As Minho is trapped in the physical realm, Hyun struggles between his own extremes - red and blue, his haven and hell, losing his own sense of self. When he pulls abcl the plaster to reveal no cut, we see him losing his grip on real life.
What even happened, what was real?
We already noticed, Felix films scene 1 in B me, the ending was supposed to be in On Track. But Hyunjin doesn't pull Minho away from the girl, he pulls the girl away from Min. He just wants his friend back.
Throughout the story we see many allusions ot Minho's reliance on the others, hints that he's not entirely there. The eagle, to lead him down the path to the Egyptian otherworld.
The blindfold from BP, to his lines in SE - "I threw myself with trust in me."
Minho's accident takes a toll on all of the boys, often talking about sleep and how they can't fall asleep - other times, how they wish they could all wake up. Which side would it be better on? Is it worth waking up, if not everybody makes it out?
We see them talk about the pain of letting go, about the mental strain. Of growing up past 19, with one of you gone. Now you're an adult, like he could have been.

Like he should have been.
Trans of EX lyrics by @smoljisunq
Grow up is a sliver of hope - You're doing good. it's okay, things happen. Move on. Go Live Your Life.

They might not all grow up together, not yet. but maybe soon, they can catch up. No matter your pace.
The flowers hyunjin holds are more accurately called Baby's breath, but painted blue, like the roses in Wow, and the trees in Streetlight.
Baby's Breath symbolises pure, eternal love. Blue roses, a one sided love - unobtainable.
The blue tree project -
There's a faint double rainbow at the end of EX, a symbol of hope and transformation. All the time Minho is asleep, SKZ film themselves for him, their daily lives and adventures, so when he wakes up he doesn't miss a thing. No lost memories.
And he does.

Jeongin, though reluctantly, lets Minho go.
"Afraid to let you go, but in my heart I know, got to move on - i think it's time."

And, for once, it truly is All Good Now.
Side Notes -
Mirrors of their struggle are in all of their songs, esp. TOP/Slump, which talks about 'never letting go', while the other asks for just an hour longer, to catch up, to match pace, all the while knowing you're running out of time, ''Just take me with you.''
