Tony is about to learn a lesson Vince McMahon and every parent of a teenager has learned the hard way; you can’t be their friend. Vince was friends with his wrestlers in the nineties and he got screwed over ten ways from Sunday with guys jumping ship, etc.
The Undertaker was the only truly loyal guy. Now, he’s more of a boss & it makes sense.
The wrestlers bitch because he says no, but when we hear the ideas, how many are awful? You can’t be the cool, fun, posing for pics and chugging white claw boss & agreeing to everything when wrestlers aren’t known for thinking of safety protocols or story cohesion.
Now you’ve got a guy who’s seriously injured, another who’s lucky he’s not, people calling out the spit and blood spot in the main event, and you have no answers and no one to pass the buck to.
He’s gonna need to take control, and while a lot of guys will be pissed that their creative freedom is gone, they’ll be healthier.
Vince says no because he invests money into you, the company needs to make money off you. The company won't make money off you if you are injured and out of action for 3 months for a silly spot.
