Nairaland should merge with another non-content platform or community. Preferably a community of developers and designers.

We should learn to move forward and not remain in one place. Whatever function it has now can be improved. I remember the reason he started custom ads.
We were having a conversation on Silicon Africa about Linda Ikeji and he was amazed at how much she was making with custom advertising instead of the Google-based advertising. Contrary to what people think, Seun also listens to people and loves progress. I think he is distracted
Nairaland may no longer be as important to him as it was before as it is now passive income from a platform that that powers itself. What he needs is not offers to buy but a community to merge with and improve as it is already a community. I believe it is in the interest of all.
We saw how Opera came with news and content then settle on payments. I think Nairaland has the ability to spin off many other new things. Many people have given testimonials of how they started their companies off Nairaland. That may be a core function that requires amplification
As much as people will like to cling to what works, I love what Mark Zuckerberg keeps saying about ideas not coming fully formed and the importance of constant learning and development. All those ”great idea, ” ”great product” and ”great man” tropes are just wishful thinking.
Progress comes from improving on things and not leaving them because we feel it is ”good enough.” Better is also an option and it is usually the best option. The World has improved because people wanted better and there were those who delivered them. People will keep trying.
I was a big fan of Linda Ikeji but we saw how Instablog just replaced it as people became social first? I think that is going to happen to Nairaland if there is no progress. It works well for many but it can always be better for many more.

End.
