Very thought provoking poll by @Shawshanko ji as olways! I cannot restrain myself from commenting prematurely, even though I know I would be asked to do so!
Certain topics make me over enthusiastic and/or fiesty. Varna-Jati by birth is one such vishayam.

Given the limitations of the poll being responded in all probability by Sanatanis of a very selective sample, perhaps even over representing the Brahmin varna, the poll results and the comments are intriguing. To me.
Some of my questions even before the poll results were the following:

I am curious to know if people have chosen a different varna than the one's of their current janma and why?

And also those who chose the same - their reasons for their choice as well.
The optics of this poll results with the percentages is telling.

Prakruthi ensures equitable distribution of jati for a reason - balance of the system. Please note the word equitable. Equitable is not the same as equal.
We definitely cannot arrive at that Magical Math of ratio and proportion of Hers.

Almost half of the poll respondents want to be born as Brahmanas. And half of that 55% want to be born as kshatriyas, and half of them ( 25%) want to be shudras....
...with little more than half of shudras wanting to be born as Vaishyas at 8% - quite an Arithmetic regression! 😁
Looks like Sanatanis DNA is on the other end of the population biological spectrum! On the road towards extinction with such an imbalance of varna Jati vyvastha sankalpa.
Our Vedic Rishis thought through this need for balance needing to be continued or sustained for Nature and hence the chatur varna was conceptualized.  Read Purusha Suktha.
I am reminded of what Jagadguru Swami Nischalananda Saraswathi ji /my dearest Guruji❣ ( Puri Shankaracharya)  beautifully surmises:
Decline of Brahminism has allowed communism to thrive .
Decline of khastriya dharma has allowed Moslems to thrive
Decline of the other two has allowed Christisn charity work thrive in the form of NGOs and other missions.

Now based on the sample poll results one can arrive at the equation and dynamic of such a skewed representation of Varna- Jati.
A weak composition with 8% Vyshyas and 12% shudras would invite only more and more conversions !

Now can you imagine the value that varna vyvastha holds for Shudras and Vyshyas.
They are the two essential wheels of Sanatan Dharma Ratha or chariot! What do we do with 55% Brahamanas alone ???  And who and what would 25% kshatriyas defend?
This is exactly  the fundamental  problem. The problem of human ahamkara based choice without buddhi alligned to prakruthi dharma. When I am saying this, I have the folks who argue for varna Jati by choice. They equate human choice with karma which is very flawed.
Then the logical question is - can we aspire as manushyas to be born in a certain varna in the next janma?

Please note the framing of this question. Here the sankalpa for one's sadgati is not for this janma but for the next.

Sankalpa Shakthi is Vishnu's Yogamaya/yoganidra
This janma is brought about by our prarabdha karma for a reason. Our field of action is determined by  our karma that is already done in our previous janma. And this current field or kshetra is quite vast. Not restricted. To explore our present and future karmas consciously
Making a Satsankalpa and aligning our prana shakthi towards our sadgati is very much possible in this kshetra. This swatantra and swadharma is the beauty and rarity of manushya janma.

Manushya Janmam Durlabham- Viveka choodamani.
Highly evolved Tibetan monks use this shastra of ours well. They are called Tulkus. In their altered states of cinsciousness, they make a sankalpa where they will be born - exact location, parents etc  and they communicate it to their chelas.
After they pass, the chelas search for their Guru in the new Avataran in such and such location.

Some of the evolved beings are born as cow. Eg: Lakshmi of Shri Ramana Maharshi. Shri Ramana looked after her as a Muni reborn in cow's form.
The fascinating story of Jada Bharatha from Bhagavatha. A mouni tapasvi who rescues a deer in his hermitage , nurtures it and develops an attachment  to it and is eventually  born as a deer in his next janma.
His deer attachment samskara materializes as his punar janma!
We have stories in puranas  that incorporate more than one janma, where the characters are able to remember their previous janmas even in animal bodies. This is smriti, memoirs of Shruthi.
Adi Shankaracharaya parampara gurus are chosen through deerga darshis, swapna and divya darshanas.
One's tapas ,sankalpa shakthi and sharanagathi plays a vital role in our sadgathi. One cannot be slack and accept randomness. That is sheer Tamas.

Sanatanis can move out of that conditioned tamasic rebirth where there is no Samyama nor Sankalpa through Tapasagni.
Hope this addresses the comments and queries about the original tweet/poll.
