I can’t tell what the first book is but the third one is Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. Here’s the plot summary
Idk how relevant it is but there are some interesting connections here, especially the car accident and the ghost stuff
also like.... taking a lame romantic nicholas sparks book/movie and turning it into B Me would honestly be so on brand for skz
thinking about it even more the title itself “safe haven” is very skzbrand because they have always heavily thematised the idea of having/finding a safe place (a district 9 if you will), where everyone is welcome and they can make their own rules..... hmmm
There are more commonalities, eg a love triangle which in the on track mv consisted of Hyunjin+the girl+Minho, with I.N. seemingly watching over (?) his friend Hyunjin like a ghost, just like in the Sparks novel where the ghost of a recently deceased woman watches over her friend
In the Sparks novel she helps her get out of an abusive relationship and into a new relationship (with her own ex)
I’ve always thought I.N. was a ghost in the on track mv. Look at his placement in the first frame, visible only from Hyunjin’s point of view (Minho and the girl have their backs turned). Throughout the mv I.N. only seems to interact with Hyunjin
Now there is clearly jealousy between Hyunjin/Minho for the girl’s affection OR between Hyunjin/the girl for Minho’s affection, depending on your interpretation.
BUT now hear me out: could the original pairing have been Minho/I.N.? Is I.N. the deceased ex, like in the novel, that is now watching over a new friend (Hyunjin) who has interest in the ex-partner?
