List of absolutely baffling decisions made in the official English dub of DQMJ:
* Dr Snap's de-cutening
* Removing the gender system and changing it to polarity, even though that probably took a SHITLOAD of extra work
* Referring to every single monster as male instead

* Actually still having the programming in the game to call monsters female, but it's only used for ONE MONSTER: She-Slime
* Despite the fact there is nothing in Japanese that indicates that species of Slime is a girl
* Changing a grandpa who speaks informal to extremely formal

* Changing a grandpa that speaks extremely cute to not be cute
* Also the door guarding guy had a posh accent in Japanese apparantly
* Leaving in lines of npcs referencing these unique speaking styles that they removed in the dub

* Translating the jewel that is NOT Darkonium into Darkonium???? When the whole point was that after you finish collecting the 10 Darkoniums you get different rewards instead!!!
* Changing the villain's title from Chairman to Doctor for no reason

* Leaving in that Solitaire gets mad about her true name, but translating her true name as something cute when the whole point was that she's embarassed it sounds "gross" and manly
* After removing all these unique speaking patterns, suddenly adding racist stereotype voices

* Changing everyone's names wildly so they're all puns on Joker now
* Changing the name of Incarnus's final form to no longer be called Joker. Even though it was already.. in English... The English word Joker...
* There is no-one in the game called Joker anymore

* Also: changing all the upgraded forms to just [form name] Ace, when they used to be Ace, Jack, King and Queen
* Changing Incarnus's gender to male instead of neutral. (In Japanese the character does get called -kun but also has a neutral gender symbol and a form called queen)

(I dunno if the removal of gender symbols was entirely because of this? Makes you wonder, honestly. Like maybe they didn't want any implications of a main character being potentially queer...)

* Changing the name of the monster tournement from Battle GP to... No name at all. It's just called the monster tournement. Even though Battle GP is already english
* Changing the name of the pokemon center/shop/information desk thingies from G-Pit to Scoutpost

* Changing the name of the shop from G-Pit to Scoutpost even though G-Pit is already English and THERES A GIANT ENGLISH SIGN SAYING G-PIT?????
* Wasting time and resources editing the game graphics to remove the giant sign saying G-Pit

* Literally ruining the climactic defining line for this villain grampy that they de-cuteified. Seriously, his big damn speech right before the battle was meant to be A JOKE in Japanese and it was completely removed and instead just.. a regular generic villain threat...

* Like srsly Dr Snapped's big line right before his battle is a funny "he says a dramatic villain speech but in a cute way with really good comedic timing, and the contrast with his scary boss form makes it both funny and somehow goddamn badass awesome"

Totally lost... Alas...
I mean it's hard to translate a joke about sentence ending words in a language that lacks them, but they shoulda replaced it with a different joke not REMOVED ANY HINT THIS WAS A COMEDIC SCENE

Anyway if I find any more interesting translation stuffs, I'll add to this thread!!!
