Yet people constantly say Indian education is worse off than West and JEE is bad.

Please note that this is not to say the "Elon overrated/Princeton bad" (I deeply respect both). I wish to say that people often underrate our own people whereas truth is Indian students are much smarter than most places due to rigorous JEE prep!

What we actually need to fix is colleges...specially tier 3/private ones.
