If you pick any random Trump tweet and quickly scroll through the responses for 20 seconds you'll witness a sea of memes pulling people into two different directions. From that top-down perspective that you can fully appreciate how a country can be pulled apart digitally.
You might not see it if you're just following Brooklyn Dad or whatever anti-Trump feed of choice, but it's startling when you see how pro-Trump and anti-Trump feeds combine to create a monster.
And of course, I know Trump is the devil himself. But it's fascinatingly unsettling to see how the sum of the feeds add up to a chorus of chaos...two sides racing to out-snark each other, every tweet worthy of a new snide remark...not really doing anything to address the problem.
I'm not sure what the proper response is when our white supremacist president pens yet another racist tweet but maybe engaging him on those terms only serves his purpose. Racism is so real & so true, our country's broken leg...putting our full weight on it might lead to collapse.
