Why an Emira/Blight Twin Villain Arc Would Work: A Thread
First off, this is just a theory, and I am so excited about it, so please don’t put it down 😭 i will cry.

If you don’t agree, just nod and smile pls 😭😭😭
Before I begin, I would like to define the term “Villain” in the Owl House. Villains aren’t really “evil”, or at least not all of them are.

A villain would mean, most likely, a member of the Emperors Coven who works for the Emperor, even if they don’t agree entirely with him.
Point One:

It would work with the feel of the story.

Dana said that season 2 was going to be darker. We know that she doesn’t mean like, g*re or anything (because it’s disney), so this means that it will be working with darker themes.
Emira (and maybe Edric) being a villain would work well with these darker themes, as there will be the issue of Amity having to choose between her family or her love. That would be an interesting way to develop both Lumity and Amity’s character, and still exploring darker themes.
Point Two:

We don’t really know all that much about Emira and Edric.

Basically all we know is that:
1. They’re Amity’s Siblings
2. They like to pull pranks
3. They are treated better by their parents than Amity is
4. They are good at illusion magic
5. They care about Amity
We know almost nothing about their true characters, or what they even do in their free time. We don’t know exactly why their parents seem to like them more. Them working for the Emperors coven would be in character for them.
Point Three

They would be easy to persuade into joining the Emperors Coven (EC).

Essentially all the EC would have to do to get them to join would be to have their parents ask them to.

While we know that Ed and Em care about Amity, it is heavily implied that they...
... never have stuck their necks out for him. This heavily implies that they are just as scared as their parents as Amity is. The only difference being, they know they can get away with a bit more that he can.

They would want to protect their image in their parent’s eyes.
In addition to those statements, I would like to point out something Dana said during the AMA.

She stated that witches join covens once they’ve graduated. This being the case, from what we’ve seen during the finale, a witch is able to try out for a coven before that point.
My guess is that there will be an episode in season two where it becomes clear that the twins have either already got accepted to the EC, or are trying to do so.

Perhaps they are being persuaded by their parents, or maybe they just both really want to get in the coven.
Point Four

They have the motivation to be villains.

Again, being a villain doesn’t really equal being evil, I feel like that could work for these two.

They aren’t evil (well, we don’t know enough about them to say that for sure, but I don’t think they are), however...
... from what we can tell, they would have the motivation to join the EC.

This could be as simple as simply wanting to satisfy their parents, but it could run deeper than that.

EC members are seen as the most powerful. This title is most likely something both twins would want
Point Five

Why it would make sense for just Emira to be a villain.

If things turn out like they did for Eda and Lilith, and there’s only one spot available, I don’t think the twins would hesitate to fight for that spot.
They both would feel like they had to prove themselves to their parents, and in doing so, be split apart.

Emira joining the EC without her brother would be an interesting two in both the main plot, and for the twin’s story arcs.
Why it would work for the plot:

Emperor Belos using Emira to get closer to the main cast would be perfect from a writing perspective.

Also, this would work well with the darker themes that are bound to come up in season two.
Why it would work for Ed & Em’s characters:

In Grom, each of the twins only had one or two lines. Emira being a villain would work with both of these lines (below)

Emira left because she didn’t want to be stuck with Edric.

Edric realizes his fear of being alone.
Point Six

Maybe She Already Is a Villain

I would like to bring up that masked person at the end of the season. While it is unlikely that that that would be Emira... it would make sense.
Here’s Why:

1. They were asked to keep a close eye on the Owl House. Emira is in a position to do that.

2. Everything I listed above could have already happened, and will be referenced to using flashbacks

3. Her working for the emperor would make sense for her character
Again, it’s a small chance, but wouldn’t that just be so cool?
That’s all I can think of for now.

If i think of anything else, I’ll add it!
