**✿❀ online classes thread ❀✿**

— not so helpful advice from your not so ace student mutual —
✧༺ ROUTINE ༻✧
— to feel like you’re actually going to irl classes, you should wake up 1-2 hours before your first class. for me, it’s 1 hour to take a bath, prepare & eat breakfast + check if i missed anything, and 1 more hour to clown around and gossip with my friends.
if you’re really sleepy and you got less than 8 hours of sleep the previous night, then wake up 1 hour and 30 minutes before your first class. 1 hour to take a bath, eat properly, and check if you missed anything, and 30 minutes to clown around and gossip or play games, etc.
no matter how busy and how tired you are, make sure to still eat well so that you’ll have enough energy to do study and pass requirements. NOTHING GOOD COMES OUT OF SKIPPING MEALS. it doesn’t matter if you eat early, late, plenty, or few, JUST FUCKING EAT. don’t fucking skip.
✧༺ TAKING DOWN NOTES ༻✧

— if you don’t want to feel sleepy during online classes (i still do tho, ngl), make sure to take down notes. it doesn’t matter if your penmanship is ugly or if you don’t really understand it too much, just fucking write.
if you’re more organized than me, i would recommend you to have 3 notebooks. 1st as scratch, 2nd to fix ideas, and 3rd to design and finalize your thoughts. but as for me, i only have 1st for scratch and 2nd as my final notebook for major quizzes/preliminary examinations.
✧༺ DOING TASKS IN ADVANCE/TIME MANAGEMENT ༻✧

— one of the greatest enemies during this time... is time. if you’re just starting classes/you have extra time and your teacher/prof gave out the topic outline in advance, for the love of god please read even just a little bit
in advance so that you can follow the lesson in case your teacher/prof doesn’t teach well or their thoughts are all over the place and don’t teach in an organized manner. if you can’t study in advance, then just study the present lesson in the best way that you can.
— for tasks, when they’re given and due within the day, i usually pass hours in advance (around 2-5 hours) before the deadline, and for those due days ahead, PLEASE DO THEM AS SOON AS YOU CAN as long as you don’t have pending lessons/tasks due today/tomorrow.
i promise you that it feels so great when you pass tasks 1-2 days in advance. the workload never stops, so it’s really nice to get ahead of yourself instead of cramming. however, do note that there are days when you may pass on the same day/a little bit late bc you should rest!
✧༺ REWARD SYSTEM ༻✧

— you shouldn’t study 24/7! and even if you do, you should still reward yourself! how so? if you’re done with tasks for the day and the next few days, you should reward yourself with an episode or two of kdrama (i used to do this weeks 1-2 of classes)
and if it makes you happy to order milktea or mcdo or buy what’s been in your shopee cart for days, then go do it! it doesn’t make sense to not make yourself happy if you have the money anyway.
✧༺ ASK FOR HELP ༻✧

— if you’re too shy to ask your teacher/prof during classes, you may email him/her/them or if you still don’t want to do that, you should ask your classmate/s for help. if you still don’t want to do that, ask help from a sunbae here on twitter
especially if they’re from the same strand/program or you know they’re good in that subject. if you don’t have any mutuals who can help you, search for tutorial videos on youtube, etc. whatever you do, don’t give up on learning IMPORTANT concepts... they’ll pop up again soon.
✧༺ SLEEPING/WAKING UP ༻✧

— before i go to sleep, i listen to meditation/manifestation videos so that i can be calmer & more comfortable + i can manifest my desires

— when i wake up, i listen to whatever playlist i want to while talking a bath (slut playlist, emo playlist...)
i used to take a bath with warm water but ever since @KoreanBibimbaap suggested cold water, i’ve been using that and it’s actually more effective (🤡) but that’s for waking up purposes!! if your body hurts for some reason (usually my case), then use warm water to feel better hehe
if you’re still really sleepy after taking a bath & eating your meal/s, try stretching (you can search up vids on yt) so that your blood flow will... idk i can’t do science but case in point is that it helps wake you up even if you’re not really into yoga or something HAHAHAHAHA
✧༺ NAP TIME / BREAKS IN BETWEEN CLASSES ༻✧

— super important + helpful! if alarms are enough to wake you up + you have enough discipline/willpower to not sleep for hours, you should definitely nap when you have long breaks in between.
when i have 3 hr breaks, i usually sleep for an hour then use the 2 remaining hours for both work & play, depending on the next class/my pending to-do-list/willpower. important note: if your break time is around lunch, don’t hesitate to drop everything and cook and eat lunch
especially if you don’t have anything urgent to do like pass something in the same/next hour or study for a quiz in the next subject. PLEASE EAT LUNCH! I AM BEGGING YOU! if you can’t cook, then at least drink milk or juice or eat crackers or cup noodles, i don’t care. JUST EAT!
✧༺ REST DAY/NIGHT ༻✧

— this depends on your schedule and this is SO IMPORTANT! my schedule goes from monday morning to saturday afternoon so my rest night is saturday night and what i do is i nap for a long time during the afternoon after my classes then wake up at night
and i take things slow instead of rushing. depending on the weight of my activities and the “schedule” i have in mind, i either clown around or study or do some tasks. since the weeks have been busy though, i have less time to clown around so i need to try to keep myself sane
✧༺ SANITY ༻✧

— what keeps me sane is being on here and ordering milktea so that’s what i do. what about you? it’s important to keep yourself sane so special mention to marupokpoks, @gaydilocks, & @HagStansCult the only reasons i laugh daily even when i hate online classes
special mention also to the mnl48 gdm i’m in (i don’t wanna say the name of the gdm) i know i barely read and chat there and i mostly just react but i love y’all HAHAHAHAHA
✧༺ COFFEE ༻✧

— should you drink coffee? the answer is that it depends. if you’re feeling extra nervous and/or you’re shaking PLEASE STOP!! but if you’re feeling alright and you think it helps you be awake and alert, then go ahead. if it gives you acidity attacks, PLEASE STOP!!
if you’re going to drink coffee though, make sure to eat something first so that your stomach won’t feel like shit and act up.
✧༺ REVIEWING TIPS/STYLES + HOW TO REVIEW WISELY ༻✧

— there are a lot of techniques and advices out there, but i think the most important thing to do is choose what works best for you. if your classmates/blockmates like quizzes & flashcards but you prefer reading & notetaking
(or vice versa), then don’t be pressured and just do whatever works for you. however, it can also help if after reviewing your own material/information from your own sources + your teacher’s/prof’s, to study your classmates’/blockmates’ reviewers when you have extra time
just in case you missed something. if studying makes you bored and/or you have short attention span, i suggest that you study lessons and subjects in an alternate manner. do not be static, and shake things up. (ex: sub1lesson1, sub2lesson1, sub3lesson1, sub2lesson1...)
if you have enough time, what you can do is study in theory in the morning and in practice in the evening (or whatever you prefer). when reading textbooks, make sure to skim through the whole chapter first so that you have an idea of how long the whole chapter is + its topics
and subtopics. then, if there is a quiz, skip to it and take note of the questions so that you will be aware of what’s important to take note of. then, read the bold/highlighted words and if you don’t have enough time, just read the first & last sentence of every paragraph.
note though that you should only do this lazy tip if you don’t have enough time and you are cramming! if not, then just read and understand the lesson/s properly and as usual, ask someone for help/do some research if you don’t understand.
✧༺ COMPREHENSION ༻✧

— if there are terms you don’t understand from the powerpoint/textbook, stop wasting time rereading the sentence over and over again, and look for a simpler explanation/definition on the internet, then write it down in your notebook/s for reference.
as for math problems, look for examples on the internet and then click google images. if you’re a visual learner, it’s so much easier + you won’t have to read through files just to get formulas and examples. there are also instances when the infographics are super helpful too!
