WHY GROUNDHOG DAY IS THE BEST
SONG EMINEM HAS EVER DONE
🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

**********************************
Thanks Rihanna, okay since I got your attention let me get my points across. I personally consider mmlp2 era being the epitome of Marshall's pen game. Every bar had something to contribute to his verses and the rhymes were crafted beautifully and perfectly. Groundhog day is
Probably one of those songs some of u have probably skipped and I really urge you to give it a listen you still haven't. If you are an Eminem fan and haven't done your work on mmlp2, you really are missing the renaissance era of his career.
Alright back to the mathers at hand. I'll break down on why I consider Gday to be the goat track based on content, Flow (techniques), production and overall outcome.
************ CONTENT ************
Now this is where the mmlp2 in generally has the upper hand in his entire discography. His style around this era could be considered as the epicenter of him evolving from Old Eminem to New Eminem and there are times where he instinctively walks
On both sides maintaining the "Eminem" mystique and this song's content is the perfect example for that. He starts from addressing his timid apprehensive childhood and story goes on from pigeon's poop (shout out to Joey's @Sing4ThaMoment ancestors) to his relationship with his
Mother to his friendship with proof and him being exposed to the battle rap. As usual he explains how his passion towards following his favourite MCs and he basically takes us through his some of important moments of his life in first 2 verses. Fuckin awesome I know
************FLOW*****************
Have you ever thought of Eminem delivering whooping 38 bars using the same rhymes with internal schemes for more than 2 and half minutes and was bummed assuming it would never happen?Well I've got great news for you cuz HE DOES THAT HERE AND HOL
Y FUCK MAN THAT'S FUCKING SICKK πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ not to mention they are not just right, fight, might rhymes, he rhymes superstitious with through them bitches. And then he proceeds to change the flow innumerable times throughout the song matching the climate of the topic he's speaking of.
************DELIVERY************
This might going to sound a bit controversial but I honestly believe that this is the most perfect delivery he has done his entire career. From the day he started rapping to one day after Neha's bday in 2020. If you listen carefully, you can hear
How uncertain and indecisive he sounds and as he continues his story, confidence in his voice increases gradually. That's some Eminem show era shit man. With step by step the song builds up to it's climax and the delivery changes in every second according to the feeling he's
Trying to convey. The little Em has grown up and now he ain't fucking around anymore. The bars get heavier, flows get complex and he shifts from double entendres to triples and as he does all this, The way he enunciate every line giving it's required attention is so fuckin majestic
*********Production***************
They've sampled rock the bells of Ll cool j and you can actually hear the guitar riff of rock the bell after every time Em mentions LL cool J ( I bet you you've never heard this fact before cuz I figured it by myself haha) the beat is 10/10
Of course music is subjective and we all are drawn towards certain aspects of our favorite rappers or songs whatever but the song delivers textbook rapping with some of the best fuckin lines he's ever wrote and let me give a small example to backup my claim right away.
Eight acres probably means his 8 albums by the time this dropped and 1/8 of that made a path to our favorite rappers. I saw majority of people saying he's saying Em paved the path for us by eating his shit up hence him being our favorite rapper but man cmonnnnn
I think he's saying 1/8 of his projects took us to our other favorite rappers meaning J Cole and Kendrick. Both were heavily influenced by Marshall Mathers LP and he's bringing the GOAT status to the convo probably cuz this is after 2 months Kendrick dropped Control verse and he
Wanted to give his 2 cents without getting any unwanted attention so he put the bar at the end of a 4 minute song in the deluxe edition? We may never know. Thank you so much for reading this far btw. Hope you have a nice day πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½
shout out to @renegadevee for giving me useful input and @Liviakai21 for being the most informative stan account and supporting me as always πŸ™πŸ½
