We are really centering WW here without saying why they fall for this and who these women are targeting when they do. This just gives an excuse of their innocence. When they are taking actions based on this. https://twitter.com/AliVelshi/status/1302576034659872768
. @BrandingBrandi is really doing a good job responding to these issues. I'm glad he had her on at least.

And @BrandyZadrozny mentions #YourSlipIsShowing on the show this morning @AliVelshi
And thank you @BrandingBrandi for mentioning me on air about our work. And yes it is indeed the disinformation is louder than falsely amplified with fake accounts.
. @oneunderscore__ admits that there are fake accounts pretending to be Black people including fake accts supporting #AgentOrange45 @MsLaToshaBrown mentioned this on air about the southern strategy getting some BP to say everything is fine when it's not. hence the RNC convention.
In many ways these are digital forms of this. The same digital voter suppression is used as a digital form of the old jim crow. The dismissal of the impact is highly problematic.
And @BrandingBrandi is correct. There is more the platforms can do.

But what @AliVelshi is saying is true. The business model of the algos on FB is being used for disinformation. It's based on how the platform was originally designed.
These platforms use deaths on the ground based on these disinformation groups and posts as just a PR event instead of understanding that human lives have been lost and more should be done.
Yes, this tech "guru"who wrote "Zucked" says that the algos are built to keep hate speech and conspiracies going. It helps their bottom line. and ultimately people end up in these hate groups because FB suggested it to them.
. @AliVelshi my problem with calling Qanon mainstream is because mainstream media validated them and continue to do so. just like other disinfo groups. Giving them a platform while silencing who they are actually targeting. Those are the voices we should be hearing from.
So Shannon Martinez is telling the story of how she got radicalized. She also surrounded herself by people who believed it.

but this whole thing still hinges on "moms" caring about children. But the key here is that its "certain" children.
The concept of "discovering" children being harmed while literally watching Black children dying and still not caring about that. This is what makes focusing on them problematic. That they are the ones losing some form of security.
they will use Black on Black crime as their defense. But a child like Tamir Rice being shot within seconds while playing outside with a toy gun somehow doesn't invoke that level of concern.
1. be an active user. She uses this emotional trigger response we talk about. Pause if you see content to makes you want to immediately respond.

2. Where is the content coming from and fact check other sources.
now @oneunderscore__ is talking about the upcoming october surprise using the 2016 example of WikiLeaks and the hacked content that folks made things up about and leads to headlines in the media Ben not just trending topics. The media took part in this not just 4chan.
I will add that I noticed that @oneunderscore__ mentioned Black people in general in terms of fake accounts and @BrandyZadrozny was very clear to point out the Black women who noticed this first and that it was first fact accounts pretending to be Black women. #YourSlipIsShowing
