It’s been a pretty emotional day. I’m alone, still without work and the days can get exhausting. But this Sunday, I thought I’d do a thread of the things that have helped me through lockdown.
1. Phone calls with family and friends. Zoom calls get exhausting, but listening to the voice of someone I love helps incredibly. And it makes you feel less lonely, when you are alone.
2. Walks. Feeling a breeze, the rain, the sun. Hayfever has sucked but it is so nice to be outside.
3. Tex Purrkins. This little guy has been going through some separation anxiety of late, but he’s still darn cute
4. Reading. Being able to read without interruptions, without feeling guilty that I should be doing something else. Reading for long periods or short.
5. Podcasts. Hearing the voices of people who have entertained me for years makes me feel less alone while in lockdown. So thanks to @MyfWarhurst @zanrowe @Wil_Anderson @CXClausen @daveanthony @reynoldsgareth @justinhamilton_

6. Screen time. Watching sport, movies, documentaries, television shows... there is so much good content (new and old) out there.
7. Online courses. Gets my brain moving. Keeps me thinking. Helps to make sense of the world.
8. Writing. I’ve got pieces on the go that are travel related, sport related, culture related. Who knows, I might even be brave and submit some to @thefootyalmanac again.
9. I’m alone, so when I bake cookies, I get to eat alllll the cookies. That’s a win.
10. Having small chats with people I know mainly online. If you’ve chatted with me - thank you. It makes me know my place in the world.
