Had PTSD watching that young man get body shamed. If you have never felt like you socially don’t belong, not sexually wanted, bullied/picked on because of your frail physical structure inherited from birth, you’ll never understand. That was me growing up. Body dysmorphia is real.
The low self esteem that comes from societal standards of what beauty/attractiveness looks like or being visible enough to be wanted, is a social ill that needs to be phased out. This ill have fuelled an industry catering to people trying to be happy by correcting their flaws.
From stretch machines add few CMs to people’s height, to products encouraging outliers to aspire towards having a fitter/sexier body structure or penis enlargement pills cause size matter above all. Irrespective of the fact that it’s outside of their control cause genetics rules.
I know natural selection is still king, but the 21st century success stories have shown us that the people that matter and make things happen are rarely the most physically appealing of the lot. I started working out in SS2 cause I wanted to be visible, desired & understood.
But not everyone have the courage to fight back my way. People are built differently, inside and out. When I started being seen, I forget sometimes what it means to be invisible. This isn’t a pity party, this is looking beyond people’s physical disposition to really see them.
If you truly see them, if they do matter, don’t compare or contrast, don’t add or remove, leave it that way & let them be.
