Mistakes I made as a , You shouldn't

>Colleague
>Employee
>Lead
>Founder

Thread 🧵
I pre-assumed that all colleagues are friends.

Big No

Choose your circle carefully.

This will make you break you.

Remember noone is here to back you.

Everyone is just here to save themself.
I pre-assumed that if I speak the most, there will be a lot more rewards.

Big no again there wasn't.

Increase your listening skills

If you just speak you only left what you know.

Now I speak once everyone finished in the room.
I pre-assumed that getting top ratings in appraisal every year the biggest success.

A big No

Work smart build your side hustle.

Don't love your company.

Love your work.

Love your skills.

Remember 👉 Everyone is replaceable
I pre-assumed that being humble & calm is the best thing

I can be, as a leader.

Not true in all cases.

When production issues came, the Leader needs to act first & provide the fact.

No one respect if you stay calm in these warlike situations.
I pre-assumed everyone just wanted to be individual contributor so let them.

Not true 100%

90% of people want to become leader.

But no everyone can become a leader.

you should give a chance to all team members one by one the choose a wise leader.

They will show clarity.
Toughest Challenges of Leader 👇

Humility during success.
Confidence during setbacks.
Stepping back so others can step up.
Putting plans into action
Leaders don’t just do things, they change things.
Admitting mistakes.
Learning from criticism.
Asking for feedback.
Building team.
In my 10 years of career,

I get a chance to work with some exceptional folks including both women and men.

They inspired , helped & I learned a lot.

Build a team that can lift you in case of an emergency.
Good Employees Make Mistakes.

Great Leaders Allow Them To.

I learned this late. I apologies

“If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not doing anything.”
Great People Practice

The Six A’s of a Proper Apology 👇

Admit
Apologize
Acknowledge
Attest
Assure
Abstain
I pre-assumed that everyone believes in your vision when you start as a founder.

The biggest mistake I did ever.

Document everything when you start something new

Things change very quick & greedy people can take advantage.
9-5 is very easy, compare to run a company.

you always need to be in alert mode.

but that's the fun ride you must try, you will get a chance to feel what most don't even think.

Hope you learn from my mistakes.
