Okay I've had an omegaverse take that I never said online before because no one cared but now that Lindsay Ellis made a whole ass video about it, here it is.

Omegaverse, even m|m is heteronormative bullshit. Listen. Hear me out.

The whole verse is a fantastical way to force the gay couple into really restrictive "man/women" gender roles in the relationship. Omega men are functionally women, even down to getting prego.

of course a lot of m|m fanfiction is written by women, most of whom are het and they usually (but not always) managed to just recreate heterosexual relationship dynamics, by forcing one of them basically be "the girl".

Also, FTR there's precious few omegaverse fanfic out there of alpha women pegging men. Which someone should fix.
