one of my biggest problems with the mandalorian stuff in tcw was how poorly they handled it. mandalorian history and politics is way too complex to capture in just a couple arcs and they cut out most of the good stuff for the sake of simplicity.

it often felt like “satine is peaceful and she’s obi wans gf so she and her government are automatically good guys!” but satine literally would’ve let a ship full of innocent people die just so her conscience could stay clean? and they made ALL warrior mandos irredeemable

civilian killing bad guys. they could’ve introduced the true mandalorians as a foil to death watch and explored how different factions interpret the mandalorian code of honor and what it means to be mandalorian. and glossed over satines failures too, the government

she created allowed corruption, elitism and incompetency to run rampant which fucked over the whole planet to the point where the republic got the opportunity to involve itself in mando business and we all know how that turned out. traditional mando government was very

strict about shit like that. they were all about “if you don’t know what ur doing someone will take that job from u by force or otherwise” they were a very communal and familial culture and that set them apart from the galaxy, and the new mandalorians lost that but they

never explored any of that and just left it at warrior mandos and anyone who betrays satine EVIL satine good <3
