What follows, in no particular order, are some older threads I wrote about how to (not) interact with nazis, trumpists and their ilk esp when they're pushy or horrible.

Dear readers:
This is all stuff they taught us in West German school in the 70s/80s.
For 13 yrs.
Every term.
Here is one on taking you attention back when we are being bombarded daily by propaganda and lies.

It wears you down intentionally.

This one of how to deal with trumpist family members and others in their lives really hit home at the time.

(It was a huge issue in post-1945 GER too. Most surviving families, incl mine, had members that were shunned as unrepentant nazis.) https://twitter.com/ct_la/status/1009896536623333376?s=20
Ah - here it is: The thread that started them all:

"Pro tips on fighting fascism"

Been looking for it for years. Finally coaxed it out of Advanced Search.

Thread got a LOT more traction than I expected and a ton of replies (1st time replies notifications bricked my phone).
I realized then that people appreciated the information.

Appreciated that someone talked about how to cope with the realization that one's family, friends and co-workers are trumpists, nazis and racists.
So, reluctantly, I dredged up my anti-fascist West German education.

I never expected to share with Americans how to deal with and fight fascism at home.

It was a relief to leave that burden behind when I emigrated here.

And yet.

Here we all are. https://twitter.com/ct_la/status/1008508311207985152?s=20
Last but not least, some comic relief.
