So what protects us from suicide??Active social network, cognitive flexibility, active coping strategy in difficult life situation,healthy lifestyles, confidence and the sense of personal value, ability to seek advice form others and help from healthcare system for treatment do.

A WHO report implied that every 40 seconds, a person dies by suicide somewhere in our world, and every 1.5 seconds,someone attempts to take their own life.
WHO says, "these numbers are underreported"
Only 59 out of 194 member states have quality mortality registration data.

We are not in the list of these first 59. As per one data source India reported 1,39,123 deaths d/t suicide, which is one death every 3.8 minutes in India alone, and that too as per inadequate data. Lockdown alone in India led to 338 deaths from suicide from March 19th to May 2nd

Few Risk factors are: being unsuccessful in academics, unemployed, elderly, unmarried, divorced, widowed, immigrant, and having different sexual orientation. Folks in armed forces, veterans, prisoners also have increased risk for suicide.

For most adults, it's difficult to acknowledge the child's despair and suicidality. Parents can deny serious childhood diagnosis d/t guilt and frustration from difficulties of handling a suicidal, depressed child or suicidal child with conduct problems. #parenting

Sensational or irresponsible reporting by media may precipitate or encourage suicidal acts through imitation, identification mechanisms in suicidal persons. Here is a quick reference. It also applies to us, 'the Twitter sena'

So is it all going downhill?
Nope! In fact global suicide rate has fallen 23% in males and 32% in females since 2000 to 2012. Likely explanation could be improvement of global health ,awareness of the problem, and widespread use of new treatment methods. #MentalHealthAwareness

It spoke about importance of a good support system.
These are some difficult times and our kids and adolescents need us, more than ever. #NEET

#Chhichhore lead actor's #SSR demise may or may not be because of suicide, but the whole discussion about it rn in the country is kind of self destructive. suicide is preventable, and Empathy is irreplaceable. If you ever feel, plz talk!
