What’s so scary about depression is the episodic nature of it. A few months ago I felt physical fatigue by how rough the episode was. I laid down on a park bench for hours on end and could barely walk because my brain wouldn’t stop thinking. Now I feel absolutely fine. https://twitter.com/daisywright_/status/1301474121088466944
Suicide is weird to think about because our brain thinks killing itself is the best possible way to get rid of the discomfort in that moment. It does absolutely help to have friends to contact at the low points but it is something that requires daily healthy habits to beat
A good analogy I like is:
We decide to get help whenever we’re drowning instead of just getting swimming lessons beforehand.
It’s definitely easier said than done and help ≠ therapy!! So many good habits that are able to be implemented daily for general QOL improvements

I promise I’m okay btw LOL this is the field I want to work in for the rest of my life so I try to jump on any opportunity to talk about it!!
