Just a friendly reminder that some of the folks at highest risk right now of overdose are experimental and recreational substance users. People who don’t always know what the drug their taking is supposed to *feel* like. They don’t know their dealers well.... 1/ https://twitter.com/tim_bousquet/status/1302300922538844162
Somehow we got stuck in the notion that only people who use chronically are at risk, and while they are, of course, they are not the only ones.

EVERYONE should carry Naloxone. Everyone should know the signs of possible overdose:

Signs of Overdose:
Unable to wake them/they’re on the nod.
Bluing or purpling of the mouth/lips.
Unresponsive to pain stimuli.
Shallow breathing.
Gurgling sounds.

Even if you’re unsure what someone is on, call 911 and administer Naloxone. It won’t hurt them.
Naloxone can be accessed, for free, at any pharmacy. No ID is required. The training takes 5 min.

Places like: mainline, northern healthy connections and where I work also have it in stock.

If you live near-ish to me and want Naloxone, I would be happy to train you.
