Previous owner went through the trouble of turning the carport into a room, but thought insulating the ceiling was too much of a bother. For some reason I decided that this needed fixed in the heat of a New Mexican August and the start of the semester.
This was when I started taking down the wood paneled ceiling. "It'll be done in a long weekend," I told my wife.
The day I realized that there wasn't enough room for insulation and ventilation, that I had to lower the ceiling two inches.
But it came together, almost was worth the ER trip when I put a nail all the way through my big toe on demo day. Wear boots, kids.
Here's when I thought taping and mudding would just take a couple more evenings. #DIYdelusions
