Other groups gathered at DPD to demand the release of Dominique Alexander.

Currently, there's no visible DPD escalation on the ground.

Meet the organizer from the Walkaway Foundation who hosted the right wing protest earlier today where Dominique was thrown to the ground, choked, maced, held down, and then arrested.

#Dallas, don't forget that this weekend the city has implemented a "juvenile curfew" which allows DPD to detain you if you are in these areas and they believe you are under 17. They will not release you until your age is verified.

A uniformed Dallas Police officer just drove a vehicle through the group of protestors at DPD. White Dodge Charger, black stripes, temp plates.

The group protesting at DPD has decided to march. They are headed to the jail.

After agreeing that marching was a risk, protestors returned to DPD and many are choosing to drive to the jail instead.

15 DPD cruisers have been spotted on Riverfront near the bridge.

About 8 cruisers left the Reunion Arena staging area about 7 minutes ago and appear to be headed to City Hall.

Protestors w/ the NGAN led group say they have learned that the organization's leader Dominique Alexander was being held at the Dallas County Detention Center (not Lew Sterret where the protest has been demonstrating) & was already released earlier this evening.

I am unable to confirm the above, as I cannot find any booking info for Mr. Alexander on the jail lookup database. Some protestors refute the claim & are staying at the jail while those who were shown documents regarding the release are leaving.

The Peoples March made its way back to City Hall a short time ago and they've concluded their demonstrations for the night.

The demonstrators at the jail are still out.

The small group in Deep Ellum seems to have dissipated.

After the People's March a small group of protestors marched to DPD and are now on their way back to City Hall.

In early June it was believed that DPD left bricks out in an attempt to incite violence. Tonight, following @NotMySonDFW's People's March, the people returned DPD's bricks to them.

Each brick bears the name of someone murdered by police in 2020.

Update:

It's been confirmed that NGAN founder Dominique Alexander was not held at Lew Sterrett where the group has been protesting tonight, but was booked at the City Detention Center.

Still no confirmation on whether he was released earlier or not.

Downtowns all quiet now. Nothing but people leaving the bars and roving packs of 3-5 cruisers.
