I am a journalist, verified on Facebook. Today I spent the entire day covering various armed groups throughout Louisville.

As I just finished a livestream, I tried to log in and it appears @Facebook deleted my account.
I just attempted to submit this appeal with my driver’s license.

Again, I am a JOURNALIST who Facebook completely inexplicably just deleted as I covered protests in Lousiville, Kentucky.
I use the @BoxCast app to livestream to both Twitter and Facebook.

I didn’t receive any email or notification from Facebook; my account literally just outright vanished.

Boxcast seems to have sent this automatically when it happened.
This is the automated message I got for submitting an appeal. I’ll look closer when I can sit at a computer but it appears Facebook outright deleted my (blue checkmark verified) account.
As you can see from the rest of the thread, there’s no explanation given whatsoever.

However, my last post on Facebook today was basically the same as this one: one of these photos and a comment about how dangerous these events I cover are when people don’t handle guns safely. https://twitter.com/fordfischer/status/1302322373216153605
I’m honestly so shocked at the lack of explanation I have no idea what happened or why they would do this.

I’m sure it was a mistake @katieharbath, @Facebook, @fbnewsroom, @facebookapp. Please work with me to make it right.

To my friends and supporters, please amplify this.
I should note: Youtube demonetized me last year. I spent seven months constantly nudging them online to fix it, and they ultimately admitted their mistake.

This is much worse. It is how I talk to my family and friends, as well as cover news. 10 years of life photos.

Devastated. https://twitter.com/fordfischer/status/1136334778670518273
Turned on my laptop to see what Facebook would look like on a desktop.

Got one tiny last peak at a post by @RichardManzoNH before Facebook remembered it banned me. Still no explanation.

Feeling miserably.

@katieharbath, @Facebook, @fbnewsroom, @facebookapp: Please help.
While I'm deeply impacted & upset by what Facebook did to me today, I have finished importing footage from #LouisvilleProtests (which presumably a robot at Facebook mistakenly deleted me for livestreaming).

I will be posting footage as I edit, beginning shortly in a new thread.
I just finished posting my HD video thread from today's situations in Louisville, Kentucky.

I don't know why Facebook deleted my personal profile and page, but this was what I was covering when it happened. https://twitter.com/FordFischer/status/1302428036118261762
I truly hate asking for money, and I hope Facebook resolves this soon.

However, Facebook monetization was making up a bulk of my monthly income, largely how I could get rent/groceries/travel budget.

Anyone who can help me on Patreon, I'd be so grateful. https://www.patreon.com/FordFischer
Thanks to those asking, but no, my Facebook is still down.

I do sincerely believe this was probably a glitch / failure of an automated system, and have faith @katieharbath, @Facebook, @fbnewsroom, @facebookapp will become aware of and reverse this. https://twitter.com/fordfischer/status/1302391363456176128
Big Bill Murray vibes right now.
Total victory!

Thank you so much to everybody who spent the past 24 hours complaining to Facebook.

It appears that (without any sort of notification) my account was restored.

My page was "unpublished" but it looks like that will be a one-click fix.

This is people power.
While Facebook never informed me why this happened, this was my last post before Facebook deleted my account.

Presumably, @Facebook mistook me writing about gun violence as me somehow endorsing or participating in it.

Facebook needs to fix this.
