Before she was Katy Perry, she was Katy Hudson. She released an album called Katy Hudson in 2001, she wrote almost all of the songs by herself when she was 14-16 years old. The album is classified as Christian Rock/Gospel. The album was mostly about Faith in God and Youth

Around 2005, she started working on her new album, which was later got canceled by her label in 2006. The album was classified as a pure rock album. Also, the songs on the album has been given to other artists like Britney Spears and Selena Gomez.
