Over the course of this Presidency, I’ve taken a lot of hits including made to feel as if I don’t belong because I’ve chosen Islam as faith. In fact, I’ll never forget when he went on national TV and stated, “Islam hates us.” And then moved forward with a Muslim Ban. Painful. 2/
If you’re not tan skinned or don a black beard like I do you probably won’t understand — let’s just say it’s been a tough 3+ years. Of course being Muslim in America hasn’t helped much either even after having served this Nation as a proud Muslim American US Marine. 3/
I’ve learned over time to cope with how this President has affected me personally but for me to hear him berating my fellow brothers and sisters in arms was over the top. Fine he never liked John McCain but does that mean he has the right to remove his heroism. No! Never! But it’s not just McCain he’s attacked other honorable military service members as well. Sad part is Americans who talk love/respect for Vets have fallen prey to the same sort of chaos. Where instead of correcting this President, they justify his reasonings. “Thank you for your service” has become just words for some. When will we say enough is enough? When will we stop making it about Democrat vs Republican? Or Liberal vs Conservative? When will finally we stop ignoring everything that is taking place before our eyes? Have we lost all decency? These questions I want us to ask of ourselves. 7/
